Prents, carers and people working with children all attended and heard
brilliant ideas to help inspire children's creativity.
Find out how you can help and encourage your child to discover a lifelong love
of reading for pleasure and creative writing!
Join us for inspirational talks and an author panel bookchat focusing on reading, writing and creativity through stories!
Award-winning authors will share their experiences, as well as industry experts who are passionate about children's reading and creative writing!
Exhibitors include organisations who provide support in a variety of creative, early learning and literacy areas including; phonics, forest schools, creative writing and dyslexia.
The Local and Schools Library service will be there so you can find out all about the Summer Reading Challenge and the services they offer.
You'll be able to purchase books from stalls run by Waterstones and Usborne books.

Victoria Dilly, Founder, The Book Activist (event organiser)
Victoria has been a school librarian for 10 years and founded The Book Activist in 2015. She will be sharing her extensive knowledge gained from working with children aged 2-18 years and tips for helping children to develop a reading habit. Alongside this, as a mother of teenage sons, one who is dyslexic, Victoria fully understands the concerns parents can have about their children’s reading & writing.
Nikki Sheehan, author
Nikki has pubilshed several critically acclaimed books for children. She has worked with Little Green Pig, a writing and mentoring charity for young people in Sussex. Nikki says "I'm very aware of the miracles that can happen when you allow children to take ownership of their reading and writing". She will be sharing ideas to help you encourage your child's creative writing.
Kate Manning and Clementine Macmillan-Scott, Scoop Magazine
Scoop is a monthly printed magazine for 8+. Designed to inspire and nurture a love of reading and stories, Scoop brings together a host of incredible writers and illustrators who create original fiction and non fiction for their readers. Clementine and Kate will be sharing the story behind Scoop and how you can encourage your children to get into reading and writing.
